Promised Land

I was very disappointed because I was looking forward to seeing a good movie. Story was slow. My whole family lost interest within the first 30 minutes. I would recommend it as a $1.00 Red Box rental.

The Promised Room

I knew nothing about the slang term for hydraulic fracturing. Fracking refers to the procedure of creating fractures in rocks and rock formations by injecting fluid into cracks to force them further open. The larger fissures allow more oil and gas to flow out of the formation and into the wellbore, from where it can be extracted.

The movie showed both sides of the issue....both compelling.

First off Matt Damion was great in this movie. Secound the story was not bad. Overall this movie was worth the prise.

Crappy End

Had a good twist but the end left much to be desired.

Promised Land is great Metaphor for American values.

The cast and filming of this beautiful film create a metaphor for American values of corporate greed and materialism vs American agricultural community life and values. One example of the close farming community that must decide if it wants to sell out for fracking by natural gas corporate development is the scene where a young girl is selling lemonaide. She insists on giving Matt Damon his change back from his purchase instead of just pocketing the profit. American farming communities ae vulnerable to corporate greed. There are no shootings , explodings, or violent fight scenes in this movie, so if that is what someone calls entertainment, you won't like this movie. If you appreciate human relationships and looking at values and motivations,with great character development,you will love this film!

I liked it

I liked this movie becasue it is a gentle movie- no violence, no gore, no sex so okay for kids but there is some minimal launguage if I remember correctly. Acting is great. Story is okay. I thought it was interesting. Not a movie that you will walk out of thinking "this has changed my life." But for entertainment it was interesting, intelligent and easy on the eyes. Not a hard core anti-fracking movie either - just enough to make you think.

We enjoyed the movie. We always rate our movies by a number. I would give this one a 6 out of 10.

could have been better

the story was dry and seemed to lag. A twist towards the end was a bit of a surprise. It seemed like propaganda.

Matt Damon is amazing as usual but the story line lacked luster...

Promised Land was really great!

This Movie had such a positive impact on Americans and there Farms to show them how they can save there land from dying off and how they can get there crops back to produce better income for there family's and Friends mainly through the idea of using natural gas to some how nurture there farms to keep things alive. Overall it was a rewarding Movie i wasn't to thrilled about the cursing but hands down it was great movie and a must see!

Enjoyed this movie

I enjoyed this movie especially the twist towards the end. I liked that it was filmed in a small, real town and the countryside was beautiful. I thought the acting was very good, however I would have liked to have seen a different ending. Sort of anti-climactic. I felt all the foul language was completely unnecessary, especially from Matt Damon's character.

Great story; outstanding acting

This was a great story but it was Matt Damon who made the whole thing sore! All of the actors were exceptional.
