    project X

Keep in mind I'm a 56 year old woman. Mother of a 15 year old girl, who was dying to see it. So i went to see it with her. It was really funny. Totally inappropriate but hilarious. I felt the pain when the house went up. I was terrific.

    Pure Teen Flick...

    by JoseG

KRAAAAAAZY energy, funny moments...yet the movie will appeal far more to teens than anyone else. I expected this to be wittier - too much toilet humor. I would wait for DVD...

    THIS MOVIE WAS INSANE

The movie was off the hook. This movie had the craziest scenes with anarchy raving all over the neighbor. I do not want to explain what happens, but it definetely worth the watch.

A celebration of debauchery without any charm

I went to see Project X for the same people that many others saw it - it was raunchy, over-the-top, and a celebration of youthful debauchery. And while I never expected there to be any real story behind the movie, I was turned off by the extent to which none of the characters involved are reprimanded or forced to face the consequences for what they've done. Obviously the goal of this film was to see how large a suburban house party could become before it went out of control, but the lack of charm and the absence of real world consequences ultimately made the film a thumbs down.

As a side note, if I were a parent, I would be terrified by the possibility that my kid might try to throw an event similar to the one depicted in the film. Parents should certainly be forewarned about this film, including the presence of alcohol and drug use, many scenes of topless nudity and lack of accountability.

    Great film

Having read mixed reviews, I was leery about watching this. I'm glad I did, though. The movie is great, mindless, pointless, insane, fun. Nothing more, nothing less. Those people going into this movie hoping to find a solid plot, great acting, a great script, or some meaningful story, lesson, or finale...look elsewhere. This movie is, quite simply, fun. It's hilarious from start to finish, and pointless from start to finish. But that's the point...it's a movie about an insane high school party. It's supposed to be pointless. It's supposed to be vulgar. It's supposed to be over the top.

Those of you looking for countless, simple laugh out loud moments, coupled with one of the best soundtracks I've heard in a while, go. Those of you looking for substance, skip this one and move on to the next

    Ultimate Party Movie

This movie shows what the most insane high school party that most of us would have loved to have gone to just to say that we did. It is not for the faint of stomach as it is all handheld "documentary" style. The sound track is great, and overall it was fun to watch. Also be warned there is a ton of nudity.

    Ah yeah mutha f--cka's!!!

Funniest movie i have ever seen!!! The guy sitting next to me at midnight screening literally peed him-self, which made me laugh even harder. I would go to that party anyday!! The plot was pointless but the character's and the script made up for it big time! It was almost as funny as "The Hangover Part ||". This movie is not for kids, to much language, sexually innuendo, and a tad bit of nudity that makes it to explicit for young teens. Overall...F'ing HILARIOUS!

Not so epic of a party...

    by PDXe30

Possibly I had more of an epic college experience than I am giving myself credit for but I thought the party in this movie was a bit tame save for all of the very unrealistic hollywood movie money used to actually create the party in the first place. We had similar parties with a lot less of a budget. The movie follows a typical HS "ultimate" party theme and the characters were mildly interesting. I'd like to see one of these films with a real budget and to make fun of itself by going COMPLETELY overboard.

I'll say here too that some of these reviews for this movie written here seem phony. This is not the ultimate party film and if you take the party out of the film (which is the whole film) and judged it by itself I'd say the party get's 7 out of 10 stars. Not epic.

NY Times was wrong on this one,

It was stupid, senseless and just a waste of time. Unless you like this kind of movie, which I don't but since NY Times had it on their pick list, I went, I was disappointed, disgusted and wouldn't recommend it. Not even "On Demand" or rent it just wait until it its the tube.

The party movie of our generation.

    by

Project X is straight to the point, a high school party movie. This movie defines the lifestyle of our young ragers (partygoers). From the hilarious friends, to the sexy women, Project X has everything necessary for a fun movie. As fun as it was to watch, a LOT of this movie is like watching Asher Roth's I Love College music video (party song playing, close up camera shots of women inside a house party, slow motion toasts). It's entertaining to view the creative crazy antics, but for a movie to have maybe a total of 5-10 minutes of this, kinda seems like a timekiller. Either way, this movie is definitely worth it's hype, and will most likely go down as the "Superbad" of 2012. Go see it!

    Project-X

    by xanno

Great Movie. Three friends who make the decision to host a great party (at one of their parent's house... while the parents are away) By great party they meant for about 50 people from their school to show up - you know, the cool kids. But with social media the numbers climb to over 1,000. The shaky film approach does NOT detract from the film. In fact, you feel like you are AT the party! It's short, easy to follow, has a plot, and has great character updates at the end. A feel good experience for sure. It is rate R for foul language (lots of foul language) topless pool scenes (LOTS of topless pool scenes) and drinking/drug use. Probably not the best file to bring anyone under 13, or over 13 if impressionable.

Key to this film - don't do this at YOUR home!
