Night ruined by venue and customer service
The screening, advertised by the American Cinemateque to be followed by Q&A with Cary Ewles, Wally Shawn and Carol Kane, mentioned on the website at the last minute (in tiny print) that none of the actors would be there any longer. I was not contacted by email.
When I requested a refund by email the theatre replied that they "only sell tickets to the film" and not guest appearances. But that if I felt I "really deserve" a refund I should GO to the box office myself. I was so shocked and taken aback that I called the theatre out on being obnoxious and condescending. The manager wrote me back to say that they cannot be responsible if people do not show up to speak because their guests are "only human" and then they would be refunding tickets non-stop. She admonished me for my reply and threatened that if i still want my refund I need to act more civil.
Needless to say, I told her she should keep my money. Sadly, after a good run, I'm never returning to A.C.
