FIrst off - great cast and well acted. Unfortunately Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch cannot overcome an overtly boring and pointless storyline. I was intrigued to see the movie given the director and location (Bastrop, TX outside Austin). While it has its fair share of funny scenes this movie fails to define itself. Buddy comedy? These two aren't really buddies, and certainly don't seem to grow much in friendship until the last 2-3 minutes of the film. Coming of age story? It doesn't seem that Emile Hirsch's character really grows in any way. Ghost story? Who knows, but it seems to be just thrown in there without bringing anything to the plot. Drama? It lacks any really dramatic elements and while its characters are well acted they lack depth and emotion. Its a film I wanted to like, but in the end I was frustrated with its lack of purpose.

Sorry you know I'm a Paul Rudd fan but this was terrible, turned it off halfway through couldn't take it, going nowhere, didn't mean anything, guess I must have missed something in this one.

I saw this movie at Sundance. It was slow, boring and the plot was not believable. I love Paul Rudd and he was the reason I chose to watch the movie. Wait for his next movie... You'll thank me.
