I thought it was going to be a messenger and some package blah, blah, blah...It was such a good story line and amazing footage of riding through the busy streets of NY! Loved it!

Better than I expected

This is a pretty much by-the-numbers film and you can see what's going to happen long before it happens. But there are some better than average things going on, including some alternate action sequences, some route sequences, and flashbacks that show you the same situation from a variety of perspectives.

Fast-paced, but dull just the same because of a wretched screenplay. The movie has a "concept" and not much else. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is good in what must be the most "nothing" role he's ever played. Michael Shannon is supposed to be psychotic, so I guess his over-the-top style in this film is appropriate. There's more "gee, this is bad" to laugh at in this movie, but it's a shame.

Better than the trailers. Am not sure how much is faked, and how much is real, but at the end of the movie, there's a quick blurb that u may miss if you leave early showing 'Joe's' mangled bike and the back of a cab with the glass broken out where he landed. He obviously is into riding..! It reminded me of when I could only afford a bike, and I loved weaving in and out of traffic. I would be horrified beyond words if I had ever been the cause of crashes, tho. Surely, it's not really like that in NY..??? They would pass laws if it was that bad? Great movie for 3-D... -ay-

You Could Do Worse Than to See This Movie

Naturally, I went into this film knowing what I was getting into...an adrenaline-rush action flick centered around bike messengers. As a NYC cyclist & adrenaline film junkie, I was okay w/ that and I got my money's worth. There was a considerable amount of plot, considering, but not too much to interfere w/ the action--just enough to justify it (Clif Notes version: dirty copy attempts to pay off debts by hijacking a hawala marker). I was also prepared to nitpick every geographic inconsistency--"how'd he just make a right turn on 24th and wind up on 116th?!?"--but there was no need, as there was only one glaring one & it was insignificant to the plot. My one complaint is that, to have Joseph Gordon-Levitt in your film and have him fully-clothed all the time is rather like having Whitney in your movie, but not on your OMPST. If they turn this into a _Speed_-like franchise, I hope they correct that.
