This is one of the best movies I have ever seen! I can't count the number of people I know personally who have been affected by some level of abuse, whether physical, mental, or sexual - this movie touches on all aspects. It allows you to hear from both the abuser, and the survivor in a voice never before heard in such a raw and real format. I will see it again on the big screen as I know there are elements I missed in the first screening. I also read the book "Push" by Sapphire, on which this movie is based and was absolutely riveted. The movie treatment served the book better than I expected.
My only disappointment is that despite winning Sundance, this film is not on screens everywhere. I find that odd. I don't want to think that it has anything to do with race or content, but EVERYONE needs to see this film. You can't see it and not be moved on some level.
