An incident along a highway demonstrates how powerful words can be in this short comedy-drama from filmmaker Andrei Zaitsev. It's an ordinary morning on a main road through Kiev in 2002, and folks are going about their business when they notice a large homemade sign posted by the side of the road reading "Kill All Jews." As the perspective jump from car to car, we witness the variety of reactions to this anti-Semitic slur, and many wonder out loud what should be done about it. However, we learn just how seriously the men who posted the sign take their message when a woman tries to tear it down. Inspired by a true story, Plakat (aka Poster) was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
