If you or your kids liked Cars and Cars 2 you'll probably like this movie. It was a tad slow getting all of the characters identified and the story line is an old one where good triumphs over evil and the star gets the girl but, all in all, it was a cute movie. Maybe I've just become an old softy but there were a couple of touching moments in the movie and a few that made me chuckle to myself. Unlike Cars, which had a sequel, I don't foresee there ever being a Planes 2. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a Pixar short at the beginning after the previews had finished. BTW, the only carryover character from Cars in Planes was Brent Mustangburger. Somehow I think they could have worked Mater into the script.

I took my 9-yr old grandson and he liked it. It wasn't so terrible that I fell asleep, but not as charming as the Cars movies. The plots are similar (almost identical?), but the characters lacked personality.

Took my 3 year old granddaughter this past Sunday and we totally enjoyed the movie. Enhanced experience due to the fantastic seating at the Marlton AMC!

My husband took my son, two friends, and their dads to see Planes for my son's 6th birthday. The boys loved it, and the dads enjoyed it as well. I didn't get much detail because...they're guys. My husband's favorite was El Chupacabra and my son's favorite was Dusty.

Where is the magic in this movie?

"Planes" had the altitude and the vectors to make this a classic but sadly this movie lacked the thrust to really appeal to audiences. The story stalled and followed the same similar flight plans of other underdog tales and the characters left no impact on this story either. It really makes you question whether Disney needs Pixar to make hits because this animated adventure felt so familiar, it is unfamiliar. This will get a giggle out of children, and maybe fans of "Cars" will like this, but there is no value in this movie at all. Really disappointing for Disney's reputation.
