My kid asked for my iPad halfway in the movie and other kids around us were bored and playing as well... He wanted to turn up the volume and I was tempted to walk out of the theater, thank God for headphones.

My 4 year old son waited an entire year to see this movie.I was greatly disappointed while 10 min into the movie he lost interest.

My son and I went yesterday to see "Planes," and thought it was really cute! The animation was amazing, especially the flying sequences. The story line was the "be fair, play nice, and help others" one appropriate for kids (and adults!) I REALLY appreciated that the usual Disney heavy-handed political messaging did not dominate the movie, as it did in the "Cars" series.

I knew that movie was going to try and tailcoat Cars but I didn't think it would be that bad. There is almost no story development. The story just drops off a cliff only to be miraculously recovered. A plane crashes in the ocean and then it is immediately recovered. The training scene is just an expert reviewing the novice. The boy planes just immediately fall in love with the girl planes. Whatever. Usually these movies have a pretty high standard for quality, this time Planes fell far below that standard. There was nothing for adults. Even in the theater with 50 parents, the jokes fell flat.
The good. The animations were pretty cool particularly the parallax of the clouds and such.
This will be a good Netflix addition but nothing more than that.

My 4 yr old son read this book, and when we told him it was a movie he was over the moon! We chose this as his first theater movie, he was glued to the screen! He did not move the entire show! It was so much fun and even I enjoyed it! I can't wait to see what happens in the next one! Definitely a great movie for the whole family!
