Stuck on the runway, it never really took off

My son who is a plane aficionado wanted to go so he could name all the types of planes in it. He was disappointed as was I. This would have made a better cartoon show on the Disney Channel than a movie. While the message of the movie was good, as Disney movies usually are, the delivery was not very good. The emotional connection achieved in Cars was absent in Planes.

Me and my three children went to see Planes. We really liked it. I think we liked Cars better, but Planes did not disappoint. It has a great message about being fair, caring and respectful towards others.

GREAT MOVIE. THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS. THIS IS WHAT MOVES SHOULD BE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN CARTOON FORM. NO SUGGESTIVE LANGUAGE, NO SWEARING. GREAT FLICK. BRING 'EM ON.

I took my three kids ages 6 boy, 7 girl, 11 boy to see this movie on 8/18. The movie was as expected for me (good but still a cartoon) but the boys loved it. My daughter slept through 3/4 of the movie. It has a slow start but gets better as it goes on. If you or your kids liked "Cars" then "Planes" will be the same thing but in the air. Same basic theme of the movies. I would take them to see it again if they wanted.

Terrible...We all walked out!

I went to see this movie yesterday and it was so disappointing that we all walked out. Seriously, I never submit reviews and usually don't go out of my way to comment online but this one deserves the attention. It was "Cars" all over again except with planes. You had the girl that falls in love with the main character, you had the old rusty guys who becomes the mentor, you had a race, etc....I don't memorize scripts, but let me tell you I think they used the same one and changed the names of the characters. What cracked me up the most was that my 4 year old was the one who wanted to leave. Half way through the movie you could tell that most of the kids were getting anxious because of all the noises and distractions they were creating trying to stay in their seats. I actually felt a little insulted. What....Disney thinks we are idiots? No creativity or imagination just a replica of a great movie. My kid got more satisfaction from the balloon man in the theaters lobby. Sorry!
