It's not like Glee at all, in fact it's more like Bring It On. There's the one punk rocker that sticks to herself, big dreams and all. Then there's the "group" that has a variety of characters. Then there's the hot guy that's not a jock hot guy, but a rocker hot guy. It's VERY reminiscent to all the teen movies of the late 90's, but holds its own as unique! How the heck did they do it?! The storyline is convincing (and silly). The cast, while completely goofy, is actually really good at delivering the story. And the music is modern and makes you excited instead of bored. It's incredibly silly and fun, but I'm almost 30 so I was happy I rented it instead of going to the theater. (amongst the hyper teen girls.)

Overall, this movie was fantastic: fast-paced, hilarious, not too shallow, and musically captivating. The entire theater was roaring with laughter constantly (Fat Amy is HILARIOUS) and it still had a gripping, moving plot that tied it together.

If you like singing this is a great movie. This was my third time seeing this movie (at full price!). Anne Kendrick and Skylar Astin are great as the love interests (and both sing very well). But I really loved Fat Amy, she is really funny.
I would go see it for a 4th time!

i'm not ashamed to say i really liked this movie. is it a new story? no - but what is? if you're expecting inception, then you'll be disappointed. take a little bring it on, add some glee - a dash of romeo and juliet, and a little bridesmaids - set to music and enjoy!

Think Dodgeball meets Glee meets Bridesmaids. What a great mix of actors, exceptional writing, and directing. Although Rebel, aka Fat Amy, stole her scenes it was the ensemble that made the movie one of the best comedies I've seen in a long time.
