    Pitch Perfect-ly Good

    by Darkola

I'm writing this review a little late, movies been out at least a couple weeks already, but took my wife to see this as we missed an earlier movie we were planning on seeing, so ended up seeing this one. That being said, I was plesently surprised how good this movie was. This was a clean movie, no dirty scenes, no foul language really, and it had a real good story to go with it. The acting in this was decent, I really cant complain as each character filled his and her roles well. The singing was done well, and the director managed to take a decent story, and mix it up with humor also, which this movie did keep you laughing throughout. This isnt going to be a movie for those who are out for hard core action and suspense, but if your out to enjoy a decent story, and have some good laughs along the way, then this movie is worth every penny. Only real complaint I had was the movie did start a tad on the slow side, other then that, I'd give this a 3 out of 4 stars myself. Enjoy :)

The commercial doesn't do the movie justice.

I absolutely loved this movie. It was hilarious. The commercial showed some funny parts, I must agree. But the movie was 10x more better then I thought it would be. Throughout the movie, I would not stop laughing. It was really fun. And to be honest, I did not want it to end. I thought it was even better then Glee... :)

Go see it - but leave the little kids at home

    by gork

A movie in the key of "American Pie" for the 'Capellas.

This movie offers a lot - good looking college girls, crazy college girls, terrific one liners and "geeks make good" - plus the singing isn't half bad.
While I doubt it will become a 'cult classic' it's certainly different...

    Who will like this movie?
Guys will like this movie (stop the groaning), parents from the '80s will like this movie, your significant others and anyone who sings or wants to sing will like this movie.

In the end everyone will probably Love Fat Amy who certainly steals the show at times but there are some stealth characters to keep a look out for.

One important note: This is not "American Idol" or "X-Factor" or even "Glee" for the big screen. This isn't TV and the movie is not for small kids. Language and explicit sexual situations/references will become cringe-worthy events for parents trying to enjoy the movie.

    Very upbeat and worth seeing!!

I went with my sixteen year old and her friend! The music was great, and the ending is perfect. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

    Pitch Perfect

    by HuggieJ

Fun movie. Will it when any awards? Probably not, but we enjoyed if very much as did everyone else in the theater with us.
And don't believe those reviews that compare it to GLEE - it is far more edgy and funny. In fact, probably not appropriate for younger kids but that is hard to say since times have changed so much since we were parents.
Go with the attitude that you aren't going to see great writing or outstanding acting - you are just going to have a good time and laugh a little. A couple very good mash-ups, too.
I give it 4 stacked CD's (you'll get it when you see it).

    Great movie made bad

I think that Pitch perfect was this amazing movie, then the director decided to add some stupid things to purposefully make the movie bad to attract to the "Mall Cop" crowds in addition to the intellectual crowds. I imagine the filmmakers finishing the movie, putting out the trailer, and having this awesome movie, then Adam Sandler comes in and says "No no no no, thats not how you do it! Here add a whole bunch of puke and some jokes that the stupid people will understand, and thats a great movie!"

There are 2 scenes where the leader of the singing group pukes. The first time during performance where the puke is so unrealistic that it reaches the third row of the audience, and the second scene the puking lasts for a full minute, then of course they play around with the puke on the floor.

There are also a couple of dumb jokes that don't make sense in the movie. I'm wondering if the producer of Sydney White and Mall Cop worked together, and had some clear differences in opinion.

High School Musical is Child's Play compared to this!

Well, these are college students, so their skill level is expected to be higher. The movie has great humor, awesome music, and an actual story line. The main ingredient that made this film work was the great characters. Kudos, to the casting director. Every character was different, but it was interesting how they all had a commonality among their differences. This is definitely worth watching on the big screen.

    Love a cappella!

Since I've judged these kinds of contests before, I thought it would be great fun to see a movie about them, but alas. I found this one pretty predictable and sophomoric. Singing was good, though.

    ACA-AWESOME!

    by c_saw22

Great one-liners, great songs, and an awesome cast! I thought it was going to be one of those movies where all the funny parts were shown in the trailer, but it's got a lot more to it. Loved it!

    SO FUNNY!!!

By far the best movie of 2012 thus far. By far the funniest move I've seen since Bridesmaids, as well. Definitely worth your time and money! Go see it! Stop reading this! Buy your tickets! Go see it! Now!

Worth Seeing, but there are some things:

I will say that it's worth seeing, and that's it's funny and a good time, but just to note it is very much like a long Glee episode. That's basically all I can say about it. Fat Amy and Beca are the funniest in the movie, though Britney Snow is great too.

Some of the best lines i've heard in a long time. I loved this movie from start to finish. A great time! The songs are awesome and the Elizabeth Banks/John Michael Higgins commentator duo are hilarious! GO SEE IT!

    Much better than I expected

    by

I went into this movie thinking it would be mildly amusing but overall just a dumb teen movie. I was pleasantly surprised. It was witty and made me laugh out loud a lot! Not a deep story line and very predictable, but still worth seeing. If you just want to be entertained and don't want to have to think too much, relax and enjoy!

    Suprisingly Enjoyable

Didn't really know what to expect. I went on a whim...the only movie starting and have to say I was more than happy I went.
Great singing/songs, great cast (hot girls), and laugh out loud funny. So if you are in the market for a few chuckles I say go.

This is the Most pure fun at the movies this year!

I was hoping this movie would be slightly entertaining but i would go as far as saying that this movie is the most fun i've had at the movies this year!. Most movies have a comedic character but every single person in this movie is hilarious i was in tears from the laughs in this movie especially fat amy. I usually HATE singing in movies but this movie was just so well done that it got me to love the singing element. Now lets talk about the leading Lady Anna kendrick she is phenomenal in pitch perfect and sh never lets me down!. Rebel wilson is the funniest thing in this movie i actually don't think she said one thing in this movie that wasn't funny.Elizabeth banks has a really really small role in this movie but she had a whole bunch of one liners that were really funny. Now i will talk about the most i portant part of this movie which is the music i thought the music was great, it was modern so that helped! 9.5/10 i guarantee you this will be the most fun at the movies this year!
