    PotC 4: Meh

    "Meh" is just about the best phrase I can think of for the fourth installment of this series. It had some good parts-- the mermaids; it had some not-so-good parts-- the overall pace of the story; but added up, the end result was something that's hardly memorable once you step out of the theater. The action is often overly silly but the sexuality is not, making me wonder who the target audience is: must be the youngest admissible to this PG-13 flick. As for the 3D, it does nothing but make the already-dark movie even darker, so there's no need to pay the upcharge. And as for the supposed "Christian-bias" that many reviewers are seeing, there's a little bit of an ironic twist on that at the end, which you'd have to be asleep not to see. Then again, maybe most reviewers were. I almost was.

    Bretz family

    Loved the movie. Johnny Depp is only person who could play Jack Sparrow. He is amazing. I never really cared much for Penelope Cruz before but she was very good in this movie.

    Please... Don't WAST YOUR MULA!!!

    Well let me start by saying that I am a fan of Johnny Depp and always loved his movies.
    OH NO! but for this movie it was a BIG shame, It started okay but could of done a better job. To tell you the truth I had never fallen asleep in a big midnight premiere, so I fell asleep. Horrible so please don't waste your money. Oh one more thing I saw the movie in 3D and there was not alot of 3D effects. :(

    boring mess

    What the heck where they thinking when they made this movie? Cruz is horrible and can barely understand what she is saying at times. The other characters never get to reach their full potential of acting. Everything seems forced. It's like putting a whole lot of bland ingredients together and hoping to get something good but all you get is a flop! It was a waste of money and sleep since I saw the midnight showing.

    Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger tides

    "It's a pirate's life for me, if you know what I mean.", was the most telling line in the movie, no treasure, no girl, just a couple o pirates doin' their pirate thing, off on another adventure without a ship or a crew...and that's how the movie begins, it seems. It is a circular vision of Jack Sparrow's existential existence. Certainly set for yet another welcome sequel.
    I saw it with my wife, with a mostly adult audience, on a school night, and we loved it. Penelope Cruz is fun as Blackbeard's "daughter", though I could have used a bit more 'frisson' between her and Jack. The 3-D cinematography is still a bit hard for my old eyes to keep up with (we kept taking off our glasses to get a better view and then...). There are some really pretty mermaids, and some sub-plot...a little redemption, a bit of revenge. I'd go back there.

    I love Pirates

    My first movie in 3D. Makes a fun difference. I'm a fan of Pirates so I loved this movie.

    better story

    Good plot, a little long but good

    The movie is about 2 hours and a couple of minutes, however, the flow of the movie and the action scenes keep you plenty awake. Jack is such a trip and surely this last movie is not the exception. Definitely recommend for anyone over 12, under 12 it might be a little too scary.
