?PINK PANTHER 2? -- SILLY but ENJOYABLE =

I've always enjoyed the general purposeful nuttiness of the ?PINK PANTHER? series of films, both with Peter Sellers & recently with STEVE MARTIN. Martin stars as the bumbling-but-successful French Inspector Clouseau. This time, he joins a ?Dream Team? of sleuths (including one played by ANDY GARCIA) who are trying to track down the ?Tornado? who?s been stealing very famous artifacts from around the world. Although she?s somewhat wasted in this film (compared to the fine work she was allowed to do with Martin in 1984?s ?ALL OF ME?), LILY TOMLIN appears as a woman trying to help Clouseau with being more ?politically correct? (which is a pretty fruitless endeavor!). While it wasn?t great, the audience (including loads of kids) responded with a bunch of LAUGHS to the shenanigans going on, & the adults seemed to like the mild romantic elements. While I didn?t find this as good as previous episodes, it?s a generally pleasant distraction (and we could certainly use that in these times).

    Funny movie

Wow, I would recommend this movie, I was really down in the dumps today and picked this movie to help pick me up. Trust me it did. I will go see it again. Love Steve Martin...

Pink Panther 2 Go See...ignore the critics

    by Sohodt

I am an Avid movie goer and I am a student of comedy. This movie overall is very good.
What some critics expect to see is a Peter Sellers version of the Pink Panther, and they go in with a closed mind. This movie is very good. The plot is solid with a good twist at the end.
The movie puts in funny scenes with the supporting cast to fill in the blanks between the key plot points of the movie, which is where the first one suffered the most, ie, Lily Thomlin and Andy Garcia and John Cleese.
Go see it.... chances are, you will go away looking toward buying the DVD when it comes out in the future.

    Better than the First

I didn't know what to expect when I went to see the new Pink Panther, but I was pleasantly surprised. This Pink Panther is much improved from the first one. The plot was much more developed, there was a lot more humor, and this movie had a phenomenal cast. In addition to the already funny Steve Martin, Alfred Molina, John Cleese, Lily Tomlin, and Andy Garcia joined the cast . Though this movie was incredibly silly, it had its clever moments. All the comedians really played well off each other. This movie was predictable but still very entertaining. I loved Lily Tomlin's roll as Inspector Clouseaus 'ethics coach'. That was hilarious. I also enjoyed how this film was cleaner in content than the previous Pink Panther. I really enjoyed this movie. It is one I would like to see again. I hope they will continue to make these Pink Panther movies. This one is worth going to see.

    Made for a fun afternoon!

The whole family enjoyed this movie. We thought it was a funny (and yes often very silly) movie. We took our daughters - ages 17 & 20 - and they laughed themselves silly at certain parts of the movie. There were a lot of kids in the theatre laughing just as hard. If you are a Steve Martin fan and want to have a fun afternoon at the movies, go see the Pink Panther 2. I actually thought it was better than the first one.

    The Pink Panther 2

I'm giving this movie a "go" rating with the caveat that I was with two 8 year old boys who couldn't stop laughing through the whole movie. Laughter is contagious !
That being said, I must admit that at 49 and someone who considers herself rather fussy about her movie selections ( i.e. I hate chilck flicks), I found myself truly enjoying Martin's portrayal of Inspector Clouseau . It's slapstick, yes, but cleverly so. John Cleese was witty as ever and Andy Garcia added the va-voom for us moms taking kids. Well, at least us older moms !!!
The sexual inuendo was on a level that was perfectly suitable for children...right over their heads, but fun for adults.
I'd buy this movie when it comes out on DVD, so I guess that says a lot. It's hard to find a movie that the whole family can enjoy, this one fits the bill.

    Pink Panther 2

A must see. Very close to the original Pink Panther movies. Action packed & a laugh a minute. Almost fell out of my seat laughing.

Good old fashioned "Pink Panter" humor...

Plain and simple - if you like this sort of slapstick humor, it is an above average and I give it a GO for that reason. If you are expecting serious or deep, this is not for you. I think too many folks are beating up on the movie for not being something different than what they expect. It is however closely in line with the original Pink Panter movies featuring Peter Sellers. At least if you go, rate it based on that.

    Pink Panther 2

    by dgps11

I liked this film because it was the knock down, drag out, slap stick comedy that I love. Steve Martin has the skills to give a great funny performance in the style of The Three Stooges. This film, like the first re-make, was never supposed to be an exact recreation of the Peter Sellers character. I have read reviews from those who disliked this version because it wasn't the same as the old. Well, wake up, it wasn't intended to be. Otherwise, Peter sellers would have made it long ago. This will have laughing material for all ages and laughing is what we need right now. The critics will still hate this movie as a waste of time and call Steve Martin all kinds of names, but it made me laugh and it entertained me. That's all I need with a movie; it's like a recreational time out. It was raining outside during the movie and that made the popcorn that much better.

    The Pink Panther

    by gabbry

If you want to laugh and have a good fun and relaxing time, GO.
Steve Martin is hilarious with his very amusing French accent.
The plot we already know so no surprises to be expected there.
Please, ignore the critics reviews if I had listen to them I would
have missed a real good time.

    Better Than The First Film!

I came into this movie with an open mind- I've heard plenty of people say the first Pink Panther was much better than the second. Well, I'd have to disagree. It's just the blending of the slap-stick jokes, more flowing storyline, and better acting that makes this movie better.

This time around, an international historical artifact thief, whose alias is 'The Tornado', begins to steal important objects from museums and preservation centers around the world. That's why the Dream Team was formed;an elite group of detectives who will be working together to solve the case.

This movie had me laughing so hard! I definitely suggest to go and see this movie...it has enough laughs, and it has enough thrills!

    What's With the Complaints

I was almost discouraged from seeing this movie because of the lukewarm fan reviews. I went anyway because I happen to like the Pink Panther series, and I found the movie to be very entertaining. The movie is filled with good light humor and I had several good laughs throughout. Judging form the laughter and the comments I heard from the rest of the audience when we were leaving, they enjoyed it as well. If you want a good escape from your everyday hassels, I recommend that you don't pay attention to the movie critics, and those fan comments that seem to take things a little too seriously, and go see the movie for yourself. Then sit back, take it easy and enjoy.

Sequel funny--but not as great as the first

    by holmon

From my opinion, the Pink Panther 2 was funny, but not as good as the first one. On the other hand, kids will love this movie if not more than the first. Although this sequel will still give you numerous laughs, the first movie will always win your heart over the second the movie.

    DON'T Listen to the Critics!

    by GLfan

This movie is hilarious! We read all the reviews and how they said this was an awful movie and not funny, but we went anyway. It was HYSTERICALLY funny! We laughed so hard at some parts our sides hurt. I think it's even better than the first one.

So don't listen to the critics and GO. It'll make your day!
