I wish that this event was taking place for more than just a few days. I would see it over and over again! This is a beautiful, lush presentation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera. Sierra Boggess as Christine was amazing. Her voice is phenomenal! She brought tears to my eyes with the emotion she expressed through her fine acting and singing skills. Ramin Karimloo's Phantom was passionate and pitiful alternately. I loved being able to see his facial expressions up close. I'm not a big fan of the Phantom as a tenor, but Karimloo made it work. What a pleasure it was to have a "front row seat" to a fine performance of The Phantom of the Opera!

On October 11, 2011, I was fortunate to attend the 25th Anniversary of Phantom of the Opera. SUCH AN AMAZING SHOW! I am so thankful for Fathom Events for providing special events that highlight the arts. This was the second event of this nature that i have attended (the first was Les Miserables last year), and i have truly enjoyed them both!

As I had never seen a performance of Phantom, this movie was an excellent way for me to become acquainted with this show. The actors and the acting were so moving, especially Ramin Karimloo as the Phantom. He almost brought me to tears several times with his poignant portrayal of the lonely, damaged Phantom. One distracting element was being able to see how the Phantom's makeup and wig were applied, whenever they did a closeup of the back of his head, which happened several times. Small thing, but sort of kills the illusion. Also, I did not like the scene where the Phantom appears wearing the death shroud and his face is covered requiring him to sing through the hood. I didn't like this costume although such a costume might have been necessary to the scene. The costumes in general though were beautiful and striking as was the singing by everyone. The theater that I attended did not show the last 30 min. of the encore after the main show. Not a happy thing for us attending.

A stellar cast, in a first rate production. A fitting commemoration of Phantom's 25th anniversary. A tour-de-force performance by Ramin Karimloo in the title role. With his his brilliant voice & masterful acting ability, he manages to capture & convey the passion & torment behind his character. One simply can't help but be drawn into his world. Sierra Boggess was thoroughly captivating as the ingenue Christine. Her tender yet poignant rendition of "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" undeniably (& deservedly) brought down the house. Hadley Fraser as Raoul brought a sense of romanticism & bravura to the entire production. An encore performance by 4 previous Phantoms rounded off the evening splendidly. Of particular note were Anthony Warlow & John Owens Jones. THIS is the reason I first fell in love with Phantom of the Opera 22 years ago. BRAVO!
