My 14 year old son was completely into the movie. There is just the right amount of darkness without being threatening. The animated characters were creative and not too realistic. The story line at the camp was annoying. I realized it reflects a lot of egos, but no leadership was present to direct the energy. I realize that the movie is from a book series that has already been written. That is why a little less time developing the annoy camp would have been nice. It will not stop us from seeing the next movie. I am not sure if we will add this movie to our movie library.

Was very good! It was an adventure and the acting was well done. And who wouldn't be cheering on Percy and his friends! Some creepy parts - I wouldn't want to take a younger child to. But my teen daughter and I enjoyed it a lot!

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is the best movie I’ve seen all summer! I read the books (which are very good), so I had to see this movie. I didn’t like the first one much because it wasn’t close to the book among other things. This film is much better then the first one. It’s filled with quick come backs and funny lines. It has great action and fantasy elements that interweave with a strong story plot. The water horse was magical and pulled you into the Greek myths. I laughed many times and was excited about what might happen next. The Firefly reference was classic.
I would have liked Annabeth to be a little more powerful. At one point she was hiding when her book character wouldn’t have been. But Clarisse was a strong female character. Next time let’s have more then one please. Joss would agree.
Overall Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters was a really well done movie. I plan to get this one when it comes out on DVD and add it to my movie collection.

As a big fan of the Percy Jackson book series, I did not enjoy the movie. Granted I have not read the book in a long time. However I didn't think that it was good. The action scenes had no sense of excitement to me and there were some parts that I was pretty sure not in the book, though it has been a while since reading it. There were also some parts in the book that I would have liked to have seen not in the movie. Also, the actors are too old. In the books, Percy and Annabeth are supposed to be around the age of 14 or 15. But Logan Lerman is 21 and Alexandria Daddario is 27

I like the sci-fi movies..this one was so-so...good plot, several cheesy parts to it and left open for a sequel....I will watch future movies should their be a sequel but I'll watch it under redbox...no language like most movies so that was good.
