Better than the first

The movie picks up from the 2nd of five books in the first series. Fortunately the director trated the story more seriously than the first, picking up missed clues and information that were not in the first lightning thief. For those who have not read the books, the movie is entertaining with some good special effects. For those who have read the book, the movie follows the story somewhat, but leaves out large chunks and rewrites many of the scenes.

Loved it! It was almost as good as the first Percy Jackson movie.Who cares what the critics say? I was concerned that the computer generated parts would not be first rate, fortunately I was wrong. FX were great! A movie the whole family can enjoy. No graphic violence, but plenty of suspense for the kids. Go expecting to be entertained and you will love it too.

I loved watching the first part of this movie series and enjoyed watching this one. I'm sure there's another one coming out because of how it ended. Good for older kids and up. I love mythological stories. These types of movies are fun to watch.

Its hard to take books with this much detail and make an equally amazing movie. That being said I think they did a great job pulling the key parts from the book. I loved the hippocampus, and Tucci as Mr D. Well done! We will add it to our library when it comes out on DVD.

Sea of Mediocrity

Story-telling was mundane. Stanley Tucci was the only bright spot. Many of the actors are so much better than the material they had to work with.
