Great movie! I took my 10 year old daughter to see it and she and I both really liked it. The only part she found scary was when Percy goes into the attic to talk to the oracle. If you saw The Lightning Thief, then you should definitely see this one. Great story and lots of fun to watch.

We had high hopes for this movie but it was disappointing, at best. Logan Lerman, Jake Abel and Nathan Fillian were all good in their roles but everyone else's performances were stiff and one-dimensional. You could literally "see" them "acting". They also deviated quite a bit from the book, which is frustrating and at times infuriating. Also, the corny jokes thrown in were unnecessary and just plain...well...corny. The ending leaves an open door for a 3rd installment, which my daughter and I both agreed to opt-out of seeing. These books have such great movie potential. It's sad that they can't seem to find the right crew to deliver. OK for a rental or made-for-tv but not box office worthy.

If your kids love Percy Jackson, they will not be disappointed. The movie is enjoyable and the story moves along quickly. The special effects are pretty good and the kids laughed in all the right places. The movie is a bit different from the book. No Circe's island or Tantalus but enough is the same to keep everyone happy.

This movie was not true to the book so fans of the book might be disappointed by the huge plot details that were revealed too early. Other than that the CGI was great and the dialogue was okay too. Go see this movie if you can tolerate cheesy cliche phrases and young teens getting themselves in trouble that is way over their heads.

I fell asleep. God. They messed up so much of it I seriously couldn't even bear to watch anymore of it. If you read the books, you will absolutely hate it and probably want to put yourself out of your misery. If you didn't, then it's your lucky day this will probably seem good to you. They just think because it's a storyline with magic in it they can add in and make up random stuff that has no basis in myths. NOOOOOOO!!!!! This is not how Rick wrote it! Again, I am adamant that they wait a few years, and completely remake all of the movies RIGHT. Some company is really missing out on this franchise that could make bank like Twilight did, and instead it's going to waste with mediocre movies no one wants to go to see because they know how bad it will be. None of my friends are seeing it because the first movie was so bad. This one is not much better, but maybe slightly. Then again, I fell asleep. Maybe it got worse later. FANS: RUN AWAY. ALL OTHERS: SURE WHY NOT.
