I didn't read all of the books and I enjoyed the movie. The movie though didn't have good acting, it was even painfully awkward at times. But it did have its moments. Stanley Tucci for example was one of those moments. He was hilarious. I loved his character. On the other hand, my sister who has read and loved the book series did not like the movie one bit. She was upset that they changed so much. I say wait till it comes out on redbox. It's a good clean family movie so that would be the upside. There were a few kids in the audience who enjoyed it. I love Logan Lerma but this movie just wasnt his best.

It's much better than the first one, even if a lot cheesier. Some special effects are kinda meh, but it's still a lot of fun. Even my grumpy boyfriend loved it a lot and asked if we'd see it again!

Went with kids and hubby. The kids loved it, my daughter says 5 stars out of 5. My son has read the books (the only one out of all of us) and he said it was not completely accurate with the books but that was ok with him. Some kids got up and clapped after the movie.
For my husband and I it was mildly entertaining and knowing nothing about the books it was still easy to follow.
We usually reserve going to see movies in the theatre for a big blockbuster but glad we went for the kids this time as they had a wonderful time :) If it was me only, I would have waited for it to come out on DVD or on demand.

If you like Harry Potter, you MAYBE like this movie also. Story is predictable, nothing surprise. The only interesting thing is when they call "Percy" in the movie, sounds like "Pu*sy". LOL.

We had high hopes for this movie but it was disappointing, at best. Logan Lerman, Jake Abel and Nathan Fillian were all good in their roles but everyone else's performances were stiff and one-dimensional. You could literally "see" them "acting". They also deviated quite a bit from the book, which is frustrating and at times infuriating. Also, the corny jokes thrown in were unnecessary and just plain...well...corny. The ending leaves an open door for a 3rd installment, which my daughter and I both agreed to opt-out of seeing. These books have such great movie potential. It's sad that they can't seem to find the right crew to deliver. OK for a rental or made-for-tv but not box office worthy.
