It's fun for the readers of the the Percy Jackson series, ages 8 and up. Lots of action and fantasy with a smart connection to Greek mythology.

This movie was beautifully filmed. I had a 13 year old and an 8 year old with me and they were both enthralled thru the movie. The 13 year old stated that he thought it was better than the first one. The characters are well drawn and the animation is amazing.

Time waster

When the high point of the movie is the fade from the Bermuda triangle back to the north woods half-blood house (I had feared we'd have to do some more trekking to get back), that says it all. Apparently not at all faithful to the books, either. The kids I took to this were underwhelmed. They'd have rather stayed home and played minecraft, so I guess it wasn't all bad, but a lot more expensive.

I have read the entire series of Percy Jackson. I saw the movie Percy Jackson Lightning Thief when it was released. This show was very good and I hope another will be made. As one comented it did not follow the book closely but this did not take away from the movie. I've been told you should never read the book before seeing the movie because you'll be disapointed. I've found this to be true in only one case. I read Battlefield Earth from front to back non stop, it was that good. The movie did not even come close to doing the book justice. Percy Jackson is a MUST GO moviel

Not to be missed in 3D on the big screen! A great one to take the kids to. An engaging fun frolic, where you can really cheer on Percy, in all his trials and tribulations; and underdog with Godlike powers, LOL (once again, this theme, that's being tapped into so often these days, it seems). Gee I wonder what it is about the human condition that's prompting this interest in the human heart?
