Peace, Love and Misunderstanding

This film tries desperately to find a balance between three generations and fails miserably.. Jane Fonda is "Grace" a fossil of Woodstock (1969) with salt and peppered tresses flowing, like "Rapunzel", down her back; garbed in kaftans of a bygone era; growing and selling marijuana; an embarrassingly, practicing, septuagenarian "sex goddess"; spewing platitudinous drivel; still protesting war, any war (most likely waving leftover placards from the Vietnam debacle)... Rent "Woodstock", 1970 Oscar winner for best documentary; starring Joan Baez, Richie Havens, Joe Cocker; they epitomized the "age of Aquarius" and grew up... ONE STAR! ***For full review please visit peneflix.com

Last stand (hopefully) of the hippie generation

What a waste of talented actors. The cliches abound in this generally boring tale of conflict and reconciliation between mother and daughter. Jane Fonda looks darn good for 74, but dealing pot, getting her grandkids stoned, howling at the moon and chanting at anti-war rallies tended to induce more cringes than anything else. There are some special moments in the film, but those are few and far-between, and by the end you're left mostly with characters you don't care about sorting out problems that weren't worth 90 minutes of your time.
