I went to see Jason do his thing and I was not at all disappointed. It's an escapist movie with a generally predictable plot, but that's what I was expecting. In fact, it exceed expectations in the sense that it had a couple of different story lines that I thought broke up the typical formulaic approach that movies such as this often have. I had read some reviews that said "Lopez was an unnecessary distraction." I disagree--I think she added to the variety. I think the bad guys were really bad and I think that parker was a "noble" bad guy. The action scenes were excellent--a bit fewer than some of his other movies in some respects. But satisfying. I'd give it 3.25/5 stars---but I think that's a strong rating for this genre. I liked it and I say go. You're not going to leave thinking it's the best thing you've seen, but I don't think you'll leave saying "wish I'd seen something else".

This is a crime drama/action movie that is based on a series of books about a character named Parker [they are written by Richard Stark and I think he did about 20] . There have been two other movies based on his books [Lee Marvin in 'Point Blank' & Mel Gibson in 'Payback'] . Jason plays Parker , a thief with his own code of ethics [he only steals from people that can afford it , he never kills anyone unless they deserve it , he always does what he says he is going to do and he expects other people to treat him the same way] . Nick plays the man that connects Jason to his job prospects and his latest is a state fair heist with Michael and his gang , along for help . Michael double-crosses Jason and leaves him for dead [he should have made sure he was dead] and Jason just wants to set things right . Jennifer plays a real estate agent that helps Jason in his plans . It has the usual good fight scenes that you can expect in a Jason Statham movie .

Never having read the Richard Stark novels (pseudonym of Donald E. Westlake); a neophyte, totally ignorant of the protagonist and his exploits, it was stunningly shocking that “Parker” (stoically handsome Jason Statham) was an untoward character, a criminal with ethics, a pugnacious, tenacious, terrifying personage when doubled-crossed; hence, the fast-paced, pungently gory scenario, revolving around Parker’s revenge and his unique code of morality...
Sprinkled with a dragnet of smarmy villains, primarily mendacious “Melander” (Michael Chiklis, “Vegas” is riveting, mesmerizing in the role); and innocent, but sagacious “Leslie” (a surprisingly genuine portrayal by Jennifer Lopez) who is the foil; woeful, struggling Palm Beach real estate agent, implementing Parker’s chimerical plan...

I am a huge fan of Jason Statham and i couldn't wait to see this new flick called "Parker." If you are a fan of his movies, or just a fan of action period, you have to go and buy a ticket to this at your local theatre. You have a suspensful thriller on your hands, and you don't know how it is all going to turn out. Statham is stabbed in the back from his partners, and is on the hunt to track them down and get what he deserves along with some help from Jennifer Lopez. Statham is an action God and i love all of his movies! You want actions? You want romance? You want blood? This is the movie for you. It is not for kids, there is nudity and lots of blood and foul language. Keep them at home. Jason was excellent, but they could of done without Miss. Lopez. She should stick to music.

Jason Statham never disappoints and he's easy on the eyes to boot! Jennifer Lopez did well and even though she was the leading lady it wasn't an action film with a love connection which is great considering the norm of guy saves girl action movies out here.
