    18 Unified Shorts

This is a very nice but quirky movie. Each of the 18 short films takes place in a different arrondissements (they miss two for some reason) of Paris and are all about love. Some seek love, some find love, others experience it in very different ways, there are close calls with love, and the end of love. The couples involved are of all ages, genders, persuassions, and even life-form (we are talking vampires here). Each mini-movie is about 5 minutes long. The directors' (each short is by a different director) task was to make a complete story in the very short time. Some did better then others but overall it was well worth it. This film is for people who can think on their own, expand upon concepts without "Dummie" guides. It helps if you are interested in French culture but knowledge of the language is not required.

    Beautiful

I enjoyed this movie (except for the vampire and mime stories.) Most of the stories were touching and the characters rich and vibrant. It left me wanting to know more about the characters and what happens to them. I definitely want to see this one again...

A varied and fascinating look at directors' takes on Paris and love. Highly cinematic, creative, unexpected and enjoyable.

Sit back and take it all in...........

    by nomad

This was a very nice collage of views - of life, emotion, reality and moments of human drama. I highly recommend that you leave your need to make sense of anyting in this movie - that is, until you've left the theater and begin conversation about the whole collection of events that people should be celebrating and savoring in their own lives. That's when it comes together, and that's when you realize how much the human race has to share. Go see it.........!

    Excellent montage of Parisian life

Having lived in France and scoured every corner of Paris, I felt the film provided an amazing perspective on the City of Light--As well as providing a deeper portrayal of it's darker side. A must see for Francophiles and travel enthusiasts.

    Hmmm.......Amazing

I've always been a fan of foreign films, even since I was younger, this film was directed not only in 18 different places but by 18 different directors, each directing a different sequence of the film, thus adding their own twist, I was quite impressed. As a romance movie and as a movie that there is much to take in, the way that it conveyed the message of the 18 filmakers was astounding. You can't but help to feel "warm" about love, granted the sequences are maybe 8 to 10 minutes a piece, give a few, you are drawn into the characters, I feel, much quicker but still with a sense of personal apathy, than some movies that are 2 hours long, I feel this "thrust" of closeness that is made with the characters forces you to feel for them and oblige to their personality. Each sequence has its own little twist that allows you to ultimately fall in love with the film, I do recommend seeing this movie, and when it comes out on DVD, you will see me at the counter with it.

    A Fun and Engagiing Film

    by mmoneal

The title had this viewer a little hesitant to go see it until watching the trailers and reading some of the reviews. This film isn't pretentious or over loaded with heavy underpinnings of social commentary and philosophy like some French films. This is just a great movie to see about the joys and sorrows of being alive and its done so well by each director that you'll leave the theatre wanting more. Side splittingly hilarious, touching, evocative and ironic from scene to scene and beautifully filmed, it is worth checking out on the big screen. You'll probably want to get a copy on DVD so you can go back and dissect a few of the stories as well as share them with friends.

    See it now!

Paris Je t'aime will take you out of your seat and put you in the most beautiful, magical, mystical city in the world. The stories offer a great variety as well as shots of locations all over the city. I liked something about every story and some I loved watching. There is a story for everyone especially those who dream of visiting or returning or remembering. Go see it! You will be whisked away to another world that is as exciting as it is beautiful.

    Snapshot

    by

A beautiful snapshot of the most beautiful city in the world. The cinematography alone during some of the framing sequences will make you want to hop on the next jet plane for a visit. Although a couple of the stories felt meaningless(like the hair product salesman?? Wha??), they are all stunning to look at, and the closing sequence uniting the scenes together felt earned, so the acting must have been superb. Good film.

A must see for anyone who's visited Paris

I've seen Paris Je T'aime twice now and laughed and cried both times. Each short film portrays love from a different perspective in a mixture of French and English. Not only are the stories very touching, each in their own way, but for anyone who has visited Paris and loved it, this is a must see. Paris is an extrordinary city and this movie gives a lovely and sometimes gritty peek into it's neighborhoods.

    Magnifique!

This movie is a gem and breath of fresh ingenuity in film making! A superb collection of actors and directors really put together some very entrtaining and human stories all set in various quarters of Paris. The fanciful and poignant stories of people in search of love, comfort, and romance throughout Paris is a perfect example of a movie where whole is greater than the sum of its parts! Probably not a good choice for those seeking the standard Hollywood assembly line action movie with special effects. It's going into our home library for sure.
