Disappointed

Some bad language. A scene where the one boy was pausing his mothers exercise videos so that he could look at the butts of the ladies in the video, and at the end the one male character mentioned that he had a boyfriend. Thank you for allowing me to answer some questions that I felt my children were a little young to hear about. Great ride home from the movie. The movie seems like it has been done many times before. Animation was bad. A few parts made you laugh, that is including the children in the audience, but not enough to make it worth the money. Wait until it comes out on DVD or Netflix, and watch it before you let your kids.

'Paranorman': The Perfect, Scary Romp to Introduce Horror Movies to Kids

Every now and then, there's a movie that helps redefine what a kids movie should be like; 'The Goonies' and 'Gremlins' both come to mind. 'Paranorman' joins these movies and serves as a reminder that sometimes a kids movie can also double as a thrilling adventure for adults and children alike. LAIKA studios, who made 'Coraline' a few years back, brings stop motion to a new height with this film which currently sits in a CGI-riddled featherbed of children's films released this summer. How is this one any different? It doesn't pander to children. Sure, there's a few sight gags and it's visually stimulating, but it also has a lot of heart. Films like this make it clear to children that life isn't perfect and it wears its heart boldly on its sleeve particularly during the third act which serves as a fitting "don't judge a book by its cover story" without being a PSA. Final thought: if you want to try to introduce horror to your kids, this is a clever - and fun - stepping stone.

ParaHorrible

Witless plot, dialogue, and characters had the quality, charm, and entertainment value of an annoying saturday morning cartoon. The last five minutes were redeeming and had value, but not enough to make up for the 95% you have to suffer through to fi-nal-ly get there.

Funny movie, but not for children under age 15.

Not for children under 15. Has several choice words, references to sex and homosexuality. The movie would frighten young kids and leave most under 15 with questions or awkward comments. It is a funny movie for older teens and adults.
