loved story, and actually cried a bit at the end when they were talking about forgiving the people who hurt her. good lessons about friendship, not judging, and forgiveness being good for yourself to move on. Liked animation and the characters had great personalities. What I did not like, was all of the adult referencing. I took my 10 year old son and 2 of his friends and certain parts made all of us very uncomfortable. Some are: When Normans friend was watching his moms exercise video and had the screen paused on a close up of a womans behind (very inappropriate!), In town there was and adult book store, a restaurant called itchy weiners, and a place called something Trim which could have been a massage parlor. also the friends older brother saying something about his boyfriend at the end. Nothing against being gay,but I have not had any sex talk with my son yet, about heterosexual or homosexual. Not the time I wanted to be questioned by him and friends! Not expected in a kid movie

I took a group of kids ranging in age from 7 to 11. I was disappointed in the movie for several reasons. First Norman tells his mom he's watching a sex and murder movie then we find out that the "witch" in the movie is really a little girl that was murdered by her accusors; a witch hunt because she was different than other kids. Wow what a negative message that sends. Finally we find out that the jock in the movie is gay. Why was it necessary to disclose his sexual preference; it didn't have anything to do with the movie. Not really a kids movie. Should be rated PG-13 for content and it was a bit scary for young ones.

I didn't even care about seeing this movie (my girlfriend wanted to), but I'm glad I did! I enjoyed it a lot, and would see it again.
Not sure if it's necessarily enjoyable for kids (zombies, witches, "Kill the witch" chants), but the jokes & references are totally over children's heads. And the kids who were in the theatre just seemed to like that it was a cartoon! They didn't even understand what was happening!

I took my 8 year old to see it and he absolutely loved it. I thought it was cute and lots of funny parts. I just think it may not be for younger children or children who may get frightened easy.

i have seen a lot of reviews on here criticizing stuff about homosexuality and ratings. now while i agree that the rating was incorrect, that shouldn't have to do with the quality of the movie. now, i definitely saw potential in this movie because i loved coraline but this was fantastic. most be are neglecting the amazing direction of this movie. now, while i respect their opinions, if you are going to write a review, i would recommend to actually critique the factors that make a movie. i would never expect a kids movie to be directed this well and i respect it as well considering how hard it is to make a movie like this. it was funny, well made, and had cool references such as the fact that all the characters were the generic zombie movie characters. you must see this movie!
