Waste of an Evening, We Left 1/2 Through

I can't believe that I wasted an hour on this trash. Two people in their apartment with a camera saying "What was that?" every five minutes. Is this what we call quality entertainment? A 2hr reality show that is as unreal as it gets. I felt being dragged to the movie, and 10% stupider for sitting there an hr.

Ruined My Life

I will start by saying that I rarely get scared by horror movies. Having said that, I saw this movie in Sac twice over the weekend and since then can say that it's hands down the scariest movie I have ever seen. Watching the flick was a lot of fun as the audience was really into it. A full theater and almost everyone jumped or screamed at most parts. The hype surrounding this movie is all true, in my opinion. I was afraid that it was over-hyped, but I was wrong. It's being compared to Blair Witch, which I think it unfair because this movie is a hundred times better. For starters, you actually see the terrible things happening in this movie. I seriously doubt I will ever come across a horror movie like this again. I find myself lying in bed at night thinking about this movie, and it makes me uneasy. It creeps me out just thinking about some of the scenes towards the end. "Paranormal Activity" probably took years off of my life, but I'd see it again in a heartbeat

Best I've seen in awhile

First off, I want to say that I watch alot of horror movies and I rarely get freaked out by anything. In fact, I can't even remember a movie that actually genuinely freaked me out. I found Paranormal Activities to be one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time. The reason for that is because it leaves alot to the imagination. This may not be true for everyone, but your mind can create some of the most terrifying things. This is exactly what this movie leads you to do. If you go into this movie with the right mind set, putting yourself in the characters' shoes, you will come out with a very uneasy feeling in your gut and a load in your pants. Guaranteed.

See this film in a theater if you possibly can!

I and some of my co-workers had the privilege of seeing Paranormal Activity at a screening in San Francisco when we were up there for the Game Developers Conference in 2008 (or was it 2007?). The theater was packed and the movie knocked everyones' socks off. The film uses the couple's videotaping of the occurrences in their home to wonderful effect. Every time the camera view of their bedroom in the middle of the night was shown, there were anticipatory whimpers of fear from the crowd. It's a rare film that doesn't rely on lots of blood and gore to deliver effective scares. The people that went with me to see it have been asking me constantly when it will be out in theaters or on DVD. I'm glad to see it's finally going to be out there on September 25th, although it's a pretty limited release. If you have the opportunity to check this one in a theater, don't hesitate. Watching it with a crowd is a great experience. Dan Irvine, CA
