Paranormal Activity 2: Letdown of the year

Paranormal activity is one of my all time favorite horror movies. The characters were superbly crafted, the premise was haunting and the overall result was oustanding. It has haunted me ever since i first heard the haunting footsteps echo throughout Michas home. Then, Paranormal Activity 2 came along. And what else can i say but what a letdown. Zero originality, almost the same premise, horrible and one dimensional characters, and an ending that should have been the start of the movie, the list goes on and on. Seriously? more loud noises and dragging down stairs? Do little toy trains haunt your nightmares? then this might be the movie for you. But if you respect a genera that started of with a bang, ignore this wreck of a film.

Not as scary as the first.

Must disagree with everyone saying this one was more scary. The whole movie had a "been there, done that" feel. If you take PA1, Quarantine and Diary of the Dead and put them in a blender, you have PA2. Spoiler alert: The scene whether the father goes after the baby looked and felt exactly like the last scene in Quarantine. Scenes done with a night vision hand held camera are now old school: terrifying three years ago, ho hum today. Hollywood, you need a new gimmick.
