The movie had great potential but they used way too much bad language and "nasty" references which really didn't add anything to the true story. You would have gotten the point without all of that.
I would not recommend for anyone under 18

Pain and Gain is a must see - but probably not for everyone. Some graphic scenes can make it tough for a wide audience, BUT it IS based on a true story - which is larger than life and just a smart move to make a movie about. Having been in this industry for a long time and seen all too many things - I can tell you this story was SO well done about the odd personalities in the fitness industry. But the bigger story is just great. Go see it.

I'm not a Michael Bay fan, and probably wouldn't have seen the movie if I had known he directed it, but I did like this movie. One key point: this is a DARK comedy, so don't expect an action comedy like Wahlberg's "Big Hit" or Dwayne Johnson's "Rundown". The movie made me laugh, and disturbed me. My Rating: catch the matinee. And don't take the kids.

I think it's a good movie, but I don't think it's a spectacular movie. It has a decent plot, it has some action, and a couple good laughs here and there, but it just missed *something.* I didn't walk away feeling a wow factor, and it's not one that I would probably watch again in the future unless I happened to catch it on TV. Still, not a bad movie, and I was kept entertained.
