I didnt know what to expect, loving the original so much, but it was visually stunning, and the story was very well done. If you don't try to make it something its not, you will like it.

Well done Disney!

By now, I don't think any one of us are strangers to the classic, Wizard of Oz. There have been many productions made since first created. And although I'm ususally a fan of the original, I've always been a fan of every version of this movie. I don't give reviews often either, but felt compelled to do so. Disney definitely took this movie to another level. My daughter and I went to see The Great and Powerful Oz opening night in 3D IMAX. And I must say, after seeing it in that theater - I couldn't imagine seeing it in another. I'm not a fan of paying $17 a ticket, but I will honestly say it was worth every penny. Disney did a fantastic job illustrating such vibrance, imagination and creativity! The colors alone are nothing short of the wow factor. I was a little skeptical about this production featuring big name, thinking it could possibly take from the film - so NOT the case. I would recommed this film for all and any. I'll definitely purchase this and add it to my collection!

It was interesting, just not what I expected. I wanted something more suspenseful then what they did with the movie. I also did not love who played OZ.

Loved every minute of this film. They did a wonderful job of creating an intriguing "prequel" with intriguing, multi-faceted characters that ties in beautifully with the original.

Fun movie for the family (over age 8)

Good prequel. Excellent use of 3D. True to the Wizard of Oz story but still stands on its own. Good for kids over the age of 8; probably too intense for younger kids because of images of flying baboons (I may have nightmares about those guys!). The CGI is a bit disappointing in some places, but positively magnificent in others. The acting is decent but nothing spectacular; won't win any awards in that category.
