The Effects were incredible...
May be a bit to much for younger children (say under 13-14)
Seen it in IMAX 3D and regular 3D...
IMAX is the way too go ~ It's worth the extra few bucks if you have it.
Now if they would just get WICKED on the Big Screen!

The strength of this movie is absolutely the stunning visuals. It was made to be seen in IMAX 3D. Yes, the acting is great - (although James Franco's "Oz" did come off as a bit flat at times, and overplayed at others) - and the story was good - (the handling of the fate of Chinatown was confusing and cold) - the visuals are the star of this show.

My 6 year old daughter and I loved it! I honestly don't know why people are giving this movie such a hard time? It was magical, funny, and WICKED! We found ourselves laughing, crying, and even jumping with fear! What more could you want?! I def wouldn't recommend it to small children though. 6 years and up

I enjoyed the movie very much. Watching it in iMAX 3D is always a visually stunning experience. There times that James Franco played his part a little "campy", but hey, he was a con man. The two newest characters, China Girl and Finnley were a welcome addition to the story. They each brought there own spin to the story. It was nice to have the illusion of how everything started prior to Dorothy showing up.

IMAX 3D just keeps getting better. Theater was full with adults and kids. Really a good family movie. We'd have taken our kids, but they're grown, away, and busy. I love the old movie Wizard of Oz, my wife doesn't. We both enjoyed this one. Franco has so many interesting facets. He continues to grow and charm. And certainly the movie enthralls us guys with the mysteries of women for us, beauty can be good, evil, wicked. Franco is putty in their hands. Loved it.
