Oz the Great and Powerful is a entertaining movie that provides stunning visuals, but won't blow you away with powerful, believable acting- which is okay. The so-so acting doesn't bring down the movie much, since the visuals and the storyline are enough to bring you satisfaction after paying the hefty fine for viewing this in IMAX 3D. This is a great movie in relative to the movies coming out this time of the year, so its definitely worth a gander if you're having a boring weekend. Also, its pretty kiddie friendly too- so take the whole family if you're considering it!
GOOD MOVIE, go see it!

We took our 6 year old girl with us and we all loved it. We did IMAX 3D. Not sure why it is rated PG13. I was a little leery after reading some of the reviews, but I forgot those guys who write reviews for a living are all idiots that only like tedious movies that win "best picture" but no one goes to see. If you like fantasy, special effects and to be entertained, you will enjoy this movie. If you go looking for Oscar worthy acting, you're in the previously described category with the professional "reviewers".

I have no interest in OZ at all. But I know disney come thorugh with effects and James Franco is likeable and Mila Kunis is crazy hot. It was pretty good, and for me to like a pg movie means alot. Solid story and great effects. The IMAX really made it pop.

Awesome special effects! I thought it showed a great success at a prequel. The subtle ties to the original were awesome. Those flying monkeys...eeeek!!! Loved it Loved it Loved it

Having been going to movies for years, I wasn't really expecting a solid family movie with Oz. Yes, it was rated PG, but surely there was going to be something inappropriate for the kids. That's not the case though. This is a great family movie and it really stayed consistent with the original Wizard of Oz movie. I highly recommend this movie for Families with young kids (8 and older). There are some scary parts in it, but I would argue that they are really no more scary than the original Wizard of Oz. This is a fun movie for adults as well since it makes you remember the movie that you grew up watching once a year every year when you were a kid. Go, watch, and enjoy!
