I went to the theater yesterday with my family, no body is happy. The movie starts so slow and with a 20 minutes long withe and black intro, then it gets a little better but any way it still boring. This movie is more for kids, but anyway too scary for the little ones. This was our experience watching it in 3D: my mother in law take a nap in the middle of the movie, my 4 year old son was too scared of evil monkeys and monsters, my 8 year old son told me twice "you choose the wrong movie" my wife said "it is too long" and I'm thinking that I wasted my money. BTW: it is the worst acting of Milan Kunis.

I love how they made this backstory of where/how the wizard came to the Emerald City. Cinematography was fantastic. I saw it in 3D and definitely thought it was worth it. There are few movies that are.

Oz The Great and Powerful is much better then the original. The story went in a different direction that isn't the same as the first story and I like the new version so much more then the original.

I am a huge fan of the Broadway musical Wicked" though surprisingly not as big a fan of the original Wizard of Oz. I loved this movie from start to finish. Great cast (especially Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis), great graphics and just the right amount of camp. Loved Findley and China girl. I would see it again!

I thought the story was thin and contrived, but they made up for it with really bad acting. I can't blame the actors as much as the script. It did have soem decent 3D effects, but seemed more like a showcase for 3D capabilities rather than an enhancement to the movie.
In my opinion, wait 'till it comes out on a pay channel, or better yet, until it ends up in the 99 cent rack at the local convenience store.
