This is a great movie for all ages. The motivating theme is that OZ has an intense desire to be GREAT. He initially believes that he can only achieve greatness by fooling and cheating people. When he ends up in OZ, he discovers that he can achieve GREATNESS beyond his wildest dreams by accessing his good side.
It's a memorable movie that includes important moral values and life lessons. Destined to become a classic, it's a must see...especially since it's in 3D and plays well on the big screen.
The movie is true to the original, starting out in black and white, and finishing in color. The special effects are wonderful, and you can easily see where Disney is going with this when they introduce it to their theme parks. ...Lots of fireworks and 3-D Holograms that will make for great rides, shows, and evening entertainment.
I recommend it highly.

I will give this movie 5 stars. Excellently done - the special effects were incredible (I liked the 3D effect - had never seen that before). The closeness to the original was a nice touch - the actors did a wonderful job. The colors were incredible - this movie will definitely become part of my DVD collection when it comes out. I know my grand kids will love it. My girl friend and I went and saw it and she had seen a review that gave the movie a C-. well folks I am going to give it an A+. The people in the theater ranged from probably 7 years of age to over 70 years of age. And everyone absolutely enjoyed it. If you are a WIZARD OF OZ fan this is a must see movie,

Beautiful colors and landscapes, visually appealing throughout. The movie was good - a couple of surprises, some adult sarcasm thrown in for comedic relief. Overall a good movie, and if you are going to see it, spend the extra money for 3D on this one!

Amazing! Wonderful! Incredible! Just got back from watching "Oz, The Great and Powerful". Such a fun movie! I loved it! I knew I would. So colorful and the story line filled in what was missing from the original movie back in "39. We watched in XD Real 3D. Worth seeing it again at the theater.

I enjoyed "Oz" although it didn't have the level of "fun and wonder" that I expected.
The characters were well played and the visuals were great.
It could have used a couple more songs, and the one by the Munchkins shouldn't have been cut short - it was great!
The "more for adults" theme was fine, and since most of it was "implied" kids will be fine with it.
The 3 D was excellent albeit short in some sequences.
I recommend OZ for an enjoyable experience.
