Very well made and entertaining. Some what long- could have cut about 20-30 minutes from the film to make it better. Story wasn't too much and writing seemed a little week. Good casting- especially Michelle Williams and Zack Braff.

A little disappointed.....

I had been looking forward to this movie for months. I think I had built it up way too much in my head because it was just ok. It was very slow going at times. Story line was not great. The scenerary was beautiful and I liked the 3-D affects. I think they could have done a better job casting for this movie. Was not impressed w/ Franco. Johnny Depp would have added a whole new dimension to this movie and I am not a Depp fan. The witches were not as scarey as Margaret Hamilton in the original Wizard of Oz.

This was one movie I will most definitely go and see a second time. It was amazing and full of surprises. It makes me want to watch the Wizard of Oz movie all over again! The thing about it being in 3D only made it better. AMZING!!!

3D makes this movie work

The 3D version is very good - great special effects. I thought though that it was slow at the beginning and picked up once M. Kunis turned evil. Michelle Williams is fantastic in this movie. She plays Glinda perfectly. Some connections to the original Oz throughout.

Oz, Blast of the Past

Do yourself a favor and spring for the 3D tickets. I saw it both ways and the 3D is simply amazing. The film is a fun and entertaining set-up for the "Wizard of Oz" and explains many things in that movie: where the scarecrow, tin man, and cowardly lion come from, how the wizard came to award the types of things he gives, why a con man is the Wizard in the first place. After watching it, I came home and immediately watched the old version.
