From the opening credits to the end notes the visual effects are quiet impressive. Many of the scenes in OZ are breathtaking. Although the storyline may be a little "stretched", all in all it was a tale well told and easy to follow. And YES some of the flick may NOT be suitable for the young ones (not to many). Do go especially if you love Disney, 3D, and/or fantasy.

The movie was slow and a bit drug out in the black and white section. I thought the acting sometimes was a bit "lacking".
The movie is a MUST in 3D. I think in regular viewing it will be less than par. BUT, I am a wizard of OZ fan so, I loved it just for that.

Oz, the Great and Powerful 3D prequel to the one with Dorothy, is pretty much all that until about five-eighths of the way through when everyone sort of loses interest and kind of shuffles around in metaphysical 2D existential symbiosis until the last ten minutes or so when they all suddenly remember why they are making this movie: FRANCHISE!
Also, I thought Munchkins had "no tall people" in Oz's CC&Rs. Must have come later.

This is a really good movie. You hardly know the two hours have passed. There are parts that are a little scary for really young children and the 3D is a little blurry at times if you're too close to the screen. So you definitely want to be watching from back a few rows.
I really liked the story. I was wondering how they were going to relate this back to the classic story, but they made it a prequel that fits perfectly.
Go see it, you won't be disappointed.
