The beginning was pretty drawn out and very boring. The story was good but it was slow in some parts. I wouldn't see it again...didn't blow my hair back.

The movie was a little long and had a lot of down time (for little kids). The acting was great and the colors/graphics were amazing. However, overall, I thought the movie was a little more boring than I expected. Wait for DVD instead!

I've waited a couple of years for this movie to come out. I wanted to be the 1st person to see this movie. I took PTO on my job just to see this movie. I've seen an early screening of "Oz the Great & Powerful" at 8pm on March 7th, and I must tell you this is absolutely the very best fantasy movie I've ever seen! I won't throw you any spoilers. It was so incredible how they used lots of elements from the 1939 "Wizard Of Oz" movie to tie into this prequel. It all fits and makes since like a puzzle. Their was a lot of humor, special effects and action to keep your eyes opened and interested from the very start to the very end of this movie! There is even a joke within the middle of the movie for it not being a musical like the 1st movie. All actors done a terrific job especially James Franco. Didn't know Franco could be such a humorous actor! This movie is too great to watch as a DVD rental. You absolutely must see this movie in a theater in 3D as soon as possible or you may regret it!

Did you like the film?
I enjoyed this film immensely. I feel that it will become an instant Disney classic and that Oz fans will love it.
What'd you think of the acting, directing, cinematography, writing, etc?
For the most part, I felt the acting was very good. My favorite character(s) were Theodora/The Wicked Witch of The West, Finley and China Girl. Those were also Robert's (my boyfriend) favorite characters. And the stand-out character for me, was Theodora/The Wicked Witch of The West played by Mila Kunis. I enjoyed the cinematography and CGI that they used which was mixed with real sets. China Girl was definitely the highlight of the CGI and she looked absolutely beautiful. The writing/dialog was also very well done.
Is this for kids, adults, any age?
If your child can watch "The Wizard of Oz", then I see no reason why they can't see this film.
Overall I give this film a 9/10 rating and highly recommend it.

I have been wanting to go see this movie since I first heard it was coming out last year. I had a baby in November 2012 and haven't been out since. I chose this time to have my first outing and went to the 9 o'clock showing. That was my first mistake. I'm usually in bed by 9. I was tired when I got there. Still I enjoyed the movie. It was really well put together and I loved how they told the story of the true wicked witch. I fell asleep a couple times despite my great effort otherwise. The "fight" scene was what got me. It was just kind of drawn out. One thing that surprised me though, especially at a 9pm showing, was that there were a WIDE variety of viewers. From ages 4 to well above 40. All around a great movie, but I don't know if it was worth losing sleep and time with my baby. I could have dealt with waiting for the DVD.
