I don't go to the movies often, but the premise of this one intrigued me: a latter-day hippie credulous enough to sell marijuana to a uniformed police officer is paroled from prison after this dopey move and has nowhere to go after his hippie girlfriend (Kathryn Hahn) refuses to take him back on her organic farm. So he bounces between the house of his mother (veteran actress Shirley Knight) and the homes of his three sisters: an unhappily married woman with two young kids and a philandering documentary-making husband, a scheming and ambitious young magazine journalist, and a bisexual who is cheating on her ******* girlfriend (Emily Mortimer, Elizabeth Banks, and Zooey Deschanel, respectively, with Rashida Jones as Deschanel's girlfriend and Steve Coogan as the creep husband). Being sweet and invariably honest, he manages to throw his own and all three sisters' lives into chaos. All works out well in the end, however. Highlight: T.J. Miller as a sweet and even dopier hippie.
