Orphan
I did not have the opportunity to see this when it came out at theatres but I DID rent it recently and was amazed! As an actress, screenwriter, and an acting teacher, I was totally in awe of the talent of Isabelle Furham. She did an excellent job and I think we will be seeing much much more of her in the future. After all, she is an 11 year old child-Incrediable!
As far as the movie itself, I have never found or seen a horror movie that scared me as I think they are all pretty stupid, predictable, and pointless. BUT--even though I was not technically "scared" during this movie, it was probably the creepiest movie that I have ever seen. Yes, it is like "The Good Son" or "The Bad Seed" but you knew from the beginning that Macaulay Culkin was bad and that Patty McCormick was evil, but with Esther, she seems just too sweet and innocent to do the things that happen later on in the film. Good story, great casting, and amazing talen--especially from the girls that play Esther and Max.
