Other than Kristen Stewart nude, no reason to see this.

Literally, that's it. Movie plods along pointlessly, parading one worthless character after the other. There's nothing romantic about their journey, their constant wandering like I'd been lead to believe, just a bunch of bored kids looking for their next drug fix while doing their best to avoid responsibility for past personal choices. Nice to see Garrett Hedlund show some real acting chops though

Nobody to admire

A soulless script with inventively beautiful cinematography. The acting is mostly good, but "Dean," Sal's best friend, is sad and hard to watch. It's all about sex: with his girlfriend, add a guy friend, take away the girlfriend, pay the older pathetic, needy man by ramming him in the rear, with the bedroom door open for Dean's buddy to watch. It gets old quick.

I'm almost always somewhat disappointed by the movie adaptions of books that mean a lot to me. This was a pleasant surprise. The spirit of the book is here, and that is what matters.
