It's been awhile since my husband and I went to a movie that actually kept us in a constant state of alert! My husband is pretty blah when it comes to movies but he could not sit still; neither could I! The movie was exciting from the start to the finish and I want to get the DVD when it comes out. I'd probably go watch it again at least 2 more times. It's that good. It's the kind of movie that makes you wonder...A MUST WATCH!!!!

Great special effects, fine acting by an A-list cast, a good edge of your seat popcorn munching thriller, very much in a good versus bad old-school way. However, it is also formulaic and very predictable, right down to the final mano a mano duking out between the pro- and antagonist. The only thing missing is one of them growling "we both knew it would come to this!" just before throwing the first punch. I'd say it's worth a matinee look, but if you're paying full evening price, there are better choices for your $.

This movie was an intense 2 hours. Some actions sequences were over computerized but overall quality (on the bloody side). Cast & characters were great. Gerard Butler held the muscle role well. Plot was a little far fetched. I give this movie a 7.5. If you like action films, see it!

Gerard Butler gives the performance of a lifetime in this high action thriller, "Olympus Has Fallen." After terrorist operatives stage a planned attack for control of the White House, his character is forced out of early reitrement to do battle and save the president from an evil mastermind. Against overwhelming odds, he manages to breach hostile security forces and stage a one man coup. It's the classic shoot em' up action thriller that will leave audience members wanting more.

Salt was released around the time Russian spies were caught, most notably Anna Chapman. The plot has many holes, but overall it was a decent performance put up by Angelina Jolie. Olympus on the other hand copies the same terrorist attack at the white house, where president was held hostage at the presidential bunker. Only difference is we currently have North Korea crisis, and the bad guys are the Koreans. The plot is somewhat better than Salt, but how many times do you want Hollywood to produce movies about attack on White House and hostage situation at the bunker? While I've seen worse movies this year, I have to give this below a so-so rating.
