Professional Critics Suck!

This is an action flick! I don't know what those darn 'professional' critics are talking about. We 'normal' people rate action flicks based on a different set of rules....

Body Count: A++
This movie has an amazing body count; civilians, secret service, everybody!

Explosions & Shell Count: A+
Great explosions, stuff blowing up all over the place, bullet holes in everything!

Hero: A+
Gerard Butler is a very good hero with a great smart talking attitude. We love Mr. Butler!

Villain: A++
OMG I LOVE this guy! Rick Yune plays an excellent villain. How can one so sexy be so so devious.

NO MUSHY LOVE CRAP!: A+++
As a true action flick should, very little lovey dovey crap, just enough to give us a touch of humanity.

Simply a great action flick that says don't mess with America....We only need one to take down hundreds!

Olympus Rises!

Let's get right to the point. The action in this movie freaking ROCKS! Olympus has Fallen brings the testosterone in a big way.

The plot hybridizes the well used formula for a military hostage crisis. The execution is so good, you just don't care that the simple twists are so predictable.

Gerard Butler was flawless in his role. He would get my vote any day of the week as the next Batman. Morgan Freeman does what he does best...command respect on the big screen.

Olympus has Fallen will keep you on the edge of your seat with a lot of tense moments, great visuals, and explosive action. If you like action flicks, this movie is for you.

Olympus Has Got To Be Seen

I read a critic review about this being the movie Die Hard should have been this year, and I will say that I agree 100%. They have collected a great group of actors for this movie, and each has been chosen perfectly for their parts, and they all excel at it. The story is also a well written story, about the White House being taken over, and the president being held hostage, I will not go into the details as to why as I dont want to ruin it for you. The action is pretty much non stop, keeping you on the edge of your seat throughout, Gerard Butler did an excellent job of playing his part, and making you believe the fight scenes were real. I have not seen a real lot of publicity for this film, and if your wondering if its worth seeing, yes I highly recommend this one, its one of the best action movies out this past year, and having a really good story on top of the action is always another plus. I would give this 3 1/2 stars out of 4 myself, enjoy and feel free to become a fan :)

Believable Action thriller

A great film...lots of action...this was really well done...totally believable...mainly because it had suicidal enemy, who were willing to die...and american defenders who were caught off guard willing to do their duty and die..the hero was big enough to be belived that even if he was hurt, he could still fight on...will probably see it again...there was so much going on during the action moments...will watch this more than once...cant wait for the DVD

Good Action but..

From a purely action movie perspective, the movie is fantastic. But the premise is silly. The behavior of the president and everyone but the main star could never happen in real life. I don't want to spoil the movie so I will just say that if the writer(s) could have come up with something more plausible or at least work with how we know the government would really respond the movie would have been far better.

Great Action Movie

This is a must see for the action flick buffs. Should win a lot of awards. I am going to see it a second time. It is that good.

I know it's only a movie...but...capture the White House...no way...All the rest was OK, things got blown up real good...bad guys lost...good guys won...

I thought it was an excellent movie. It brought back feelings of 911. This movie makes you think about what could happen and the reactions taken. You get to appreciate what the White House Staff does. It was so real.

AWESOME

I must say that Millenium films did a great job on Olympus Has Fallen. I live in Shreveport LA where a lot of this movie was shot and I seen the screens setup all over town. I was really excited to see how they were going to bring it all together and I have to say they did an AWESOME job. Action packed, I was sitting on the edge of my seat with the thrill and excitement. I like the fact they broke up the movie seriouness with some sly comments from Gerard at times, you know we were are all thinking the same thing. I will watch this movie again and I will add it to my bluray collection when it comes out. I would like to extend a thank you to all those people that worked to make this movie. I just happened to pick the 740 pm movie time to go see this movie on opening night. It was nice to see the Mayor of Shreveport and several other officials out with there familys to enjoy this movie as well.

This movie was great lots of action !! Edge of your seat drama. We're man is man I am female both men and woman will love this move!!! It's a must see the acting was great ,special affect off the charts!

Must Go - Don't Wait!

Great action/military movie. Better than Die Hard & Independence Day! Was drawn into the story easily, on the edge of my seat until the end. Excellent acting performances by entire cast (Ashley Judd, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent - Batman series). Didn't like the shooting - turned away for some of it - but when it was done - it was more tastefully done than most movies of this genre. Not for kids under 15 or those with PTSD.

A dark movie with excessive violence. Well acted but a weak overused plot. Setting was limited to the white house and tunnels throughout. Like watching cave dwellers fighting for survival. Bloody, noisy, and violent from the beginning until a few minutes before the end.

I give this one a 7.5 out of 10. The premise for this picture is good. WHY the White house was taken and what, ultimately, the bad guys intended to do. (Watching the White House be taken by ANYBODY was disturbing, but it IS just a movie). The PROBLEM with "Olympus" is that it felt like a re-hash of the original "Die Hard". There were a few laughs but I kept waiting for Gerard Butler's character to say something equally witty as "Yippy-Ky-Yay, Mother F...er". Also, characters come and go very quickly and props seem to appear and then mysteriously disappear (watch for the trash trucks). Recommendation: GO!! Especially if you like gratuitous violence.

not beleavable and does a disservice to our military, the secreat service and all of the security measures taken to protect our great nation. good action movie but as a member of the armed forces of the usa in the washington d. c. area there is no way in hell the backword north korean anything or anyone else could take or even think of holding the white house or brake our nuke codes. thank holywood again for misrepresenting our nation again and making us all look stupid.
