  The movie was short on suspense and even shorter on originality. All the different areas to keep the audience guessing were not explored.

  This movie is not worth the $11 you will pay to see it. It is a story that has been told a 100 times before. Woman falls for a married man and tries to take his wifes place. Shortly after the movie starts you understand how Beyonce got the role. Executive Producer credits along with Mathew Knowles explain why the movie is not that good. Idris and Ali charactors are believable. And that is the only reason
  why this movie does not get an oh no rating. I never once believed Beyonce Charactor and her portrayol of a angry black woman did not help the movie either. Alot of her lines came right out of an 80's movie. She sounded and acted like the stereotypes that alot of the inner-city women are compared to. The last 10 minutes was just bad. Now if you are Beyonce fan, If do not care about good acting from your main
  charactors like to waste money this is your movie.

  Obsessed... Good Movie

  I saw the movie and I thought it was pretty good. I didn't watch the movie with any blinders, biases, prejudices, or the such. I imagined if something like this could really happen. My answer is "Yes." Was Mr. Derek solely innocent? Perhaps if he would have spoken up. Should Lisa had been avoided like the plague from the beginning (YES!, Especially if you are already a weak man who easily gets too involved with women.)? After viewing the movie, I think it shows how a MAN (not just black man) can be set up by a woman. But somehow, delusional women can create a fairy tale story that seems so real and convincing. Derek needed empathy (not sympathy). Beyonce "Sharon" did a good job in acting her role. Especially when she opened the can of "Whup ***" (Come on ladies, just imagine... if it were your man, this woman came in your house, and has done those awful things.) This is not another "Chick Flick." Go check out the movie for yourself and formulate your own opinion.

  Obsessed with Obsessed

  This movie was intense every minute of it. You were just waiting to see what psychotic thing that woman would do to him. She was a total socio-path. She made you want to stand up and yell at the screen. GO SEE IT!!!!!!!!! P.S. Beyonce and the other actors did great! :-)

  Obsessed Or Not?

  This movie was terrific...shows how one little conversation escalates into an Obsession. This was a terrific movie. Beyonce pulled off an excellent performance in this thriller of a movie:) terrific:) Also can illustrate things that go on between average, every day couples. Awesome movie 2 thumbs up:)

  Obsessed was a great movie

  This film beats out the "Fatal Attraction" movie with Michael Douglass. Although the plots are similar, the acting was good, and the fight scene was really good. It was also thought-provoking about crazy folks that are out here. Hints of caution are there.
  
  I would go see it again, and I will also buy it when it comes out on DVD.

  Idris Elba is the next Denzel Washington

  Idris Elba is the next denzel. I see why he was being stalked. Excellent, convincing actor. Beyonce always plays herself. She didn't play the wife of a college educated ceo of a major financial company. She play the wife of a major Rapper. I would have enjoyed an unexpected ending. I loved
  the movie. I'll would go and see it a second time.

  Oh So Painful-Beyonce

  Before you start saying I'm a Hater I just want to set the record straight and say that I absolutely LOVE me some Beyonce, but she really really cannot act to save her life. Idris Alba and the pretty stalker chick were believable but everytime Beyonce would open her mouth it felt like she was reading from a teleprompter. She is a beautiful girl with many gifts but acting is not one of them. If you don't believe what I'm saying go check out the movie yourself. The directors/editors of the film knew Beyonce couldn't act that's why her talking scenes were kept to a minimum. I would wait for the DVD if I were you.

  Nice Plot, Great Eye-Candy, But Lousy Acting!

  This movie had an good plot. It was predictable at times, but what movie isn't now a days. There was great acting on Idris Elba's behalf (no surprise there) and his obsessed stalker (don't know her name).
  
  Okay, now, about the eye-candy. IDRIS ELBA= YUM!!! I first noticed this guy when he came out in Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls and I thought he was SO fine! He's the more redeeming aspect of paying to see this film in theatres. He's worth it! lol
  
  Now, Beyonce. Her acting was HORRIBLE! I was really hoping to see her improved as an actress since she has starred in a few films now. Well, I was very VERY disappointed. I wanted to give Ms. Knowles the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately I don't see her acting has improved. Oh, well. The bad thing is that her role was essential to the movie, so it's not something that can be easily ignored. This is what brings the movie score down.

  Obsessed: :-)

  This was a GREAT MOVIE. My husband and I went to see the movie with two other couples and the six of us REALLY REALLY Enjoyed the movie. Beyonce carried her weight in this movie (better than her role in Dream Girls). This movie was definitely a converstaion piece over dinner. I highly recommend that everyone see this movie. The "white" girl was CRAAAAAAAAAAAAZY!!

  Formulaic, Cliched, Predictable but watchable because of photogenic characters

  I was very disappointed because I expected more. I have a pet peeve about such films which star recording artists. Beyonce is a very attractive woman. But she is not a trained actress. She was only eye-candy. Her role was more like a fashion show than a real character. This film would have been much better without her in it.
  
  The other actors did a very good job carrying her. They made the film interesting despite the predictable plot. However, I was really put off by the Beyonce voice-overs and "Sista"-speak. It sounded stupid, stereotypical and frankly insulting at times.
  
  Beyonce took more away from this film than everyone gave. Hey Hollywood! Stop trying to capitalize on singers' cross-over appeal! If you want a formula to follow, here's one; Stick to using trained Actors to Act and Singers to Sing! An unknown but very good actress has lost a great career opportunity because you chose Beyonce over her. Not to mention other known actresses who could have done much, much better!

  "Fatal Attraction" Lite

  "Obsessed" is actually a pretty good thriller at times, creepy when it should be creepy and so forth. The acting is good--yes, Beyonce is good--the build up is good.
  
  But a movie like this really should have gone for the R rating and been a richer, spicier, sexier thriller.
  
  For example, the parking garage scene from the previews where Lisa (Ali Larter) climbs into Derek's (Idris Elba) car and opens her overcoat to reveal--her in her underwear! C'mon, now.
  
  Some R-rated language would've made some sense in some scenes also.
  
  We don't get any of Lisa's backstory--how she got to be so twisted and delusional. Larter is resourceful enough to make her character work, despite the constraints.
  
  To sum: Obsessed does have some things going for it to make it somewhat worth watching. But ratings have become part of movies' marketing strategy. I guess someone thought it was a good idea to keep this movie accessible to Beyonce's teenage and 'tweenage fans. It was not.
