I was really, really looking forward to this movie. I mean, they've been pushing advertising for this for months and months. I thought the plot would be on par with the tricks that wowed us in the previews. Not so much. With such a great cast it is inexcusable that this movie is barely watchable.
I felt cheated at the end, and found myself growing more and more frustrated with the focus the movie put on Ruffalo's detective character as the movie dragged on.
I walked out of the theater feeling very let down, and that is a truly rare thing for me. I was so angry at this movie that I created this account and wrote my first ever review. It's not the worst movie ever, and is probably worth a Saturday night on Blu Ray, but there is no reason to pay $10 a ticket to see this now. The only thing that isn't below average about this movie is the cast.

Not since The Usual Suspects has there been such a riveting, entertaining joyride of a move! Clever, tightly scripted, and if possible, equally plot and character driven. Our local newspaper movie reviewer had given it a less than enthusiastic review. But having realized long ago that said reviewer must be checking his joie de vivre at the door each time he enters a movie theater, I decided to take a chance with a film starring the brilliant Morgan Freeman and the gorgeous Mark Ruffalo.
What a blast!
It's the perfect Summer Fun movie. Go!

My husband and I saw this movie over the weekend. We both loved it. He would see it again which is extremely rare for him. Twist at the end was great!

Advertisements are calling it a movie better than the Ocean's series and as a fan of those movies I went in expecting something great and I was definitely not disappointed! This movie has a wonderful plot and a mystery that leaves you guessing if each character is somehow the culprit and when you find out who it is you feel like you should go back through the movie to see what you missed.
It's funny and visually stunning. Take your friends, take your whole family, heck, take that neighbor down the street that just moved in. This movie is a must see for the summer!!!

As is often the case with surprisingly gratifying movie theater experiences - walked in with zero expectations; left thinking it was a fantastic, totally entertaining couple of hours. Great energy & pace. One novelty: The movie successfully pulls a card trick on the theater audience. Woody Harrelson kills it. Rufalo is bearable for, maybe, the first time ever.
