This intriguing, romantic spy thriller from 1946 is vintage Hitchcock with more authentic, meticulously crafted suspense than you will find in 10 movies of the same genre these days! Starting with an incredible cast including Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman and Claude Rains, the Master creates an amazing triangle as both men fall in love with the same woman. Grant plays the detached, seemingly indiffernet agent who gets emotionaly scarred Bergman involved with Nazi conspirator Raines who ends up falling for her again and marrying her not realizing she is only there to track his criminal activities for the CIA. As she unknowingly gets deeper and deeper in with many of the household's evil factions, Grant struggles to free her from the clutches of encroaching doom. What ensues is scene after scene of marvelously riveting drama supported by amazingly good acting and taut, superlative direction. Undoubtedly one of Hitchcock's finest features of the 40s!!
