Nice story with a excellent soundtrack. Nice debut film from David Chase.

This movie was boring beyond words. Myself and the others I was with looked at our watches several times in hope that it would soon be over. There was no point to the story, it was disjointed and nothing ever happened. There was not a single likeable character in the whole movie

I have no idea what the director was going for with this, but he missed. It doesn't even make sense - the plot is pedantic and confused. The characters are just annoying, and the musicians act like anything but. I doubt any of the actors has actually ever played a single tune. I'd say theme might have been the director's focus, but even that is half- baked. Don't bother.

The major problem with this movie is the fact that the beginning is so choppy in its time line that by the time is starts to get good you are bored and checking your watch. The ending was weird and there were parts that could have been edited out since they didn't add anything to the film itself. Also I couldn't help but be distracted by the amount of smoking that went on. Sad to say but the most interesting character in the whole movie is Grace's sister Joy and she doesn't get enough screen time.

Quite a movie, quite dark. It is not just a period movie although demeanors, setup and everything else is about the 60s. It is a psychological thriller in an existential sort of way. I enjoyed it a lot.
