Cool concept, but not well executed
This movie is thought-provoking, ripe with insights into the natures and interrelationships of causality, time, ego and narrative; Philip K. ****'s brilliance shows through. As a movie, however, it's not very well done. The dialog is awful (at one point, J. Moore delivers a line in which she can't quite hide her embarrasment for having to utter it), the characters are largely unmotivated and underdeveloped, geography is a bit muddled (apparently, the Grand Canyon is a 5-10 minute drive from downtown LA), and the plot moves in strange and unexplaned directions, even accounting for the "Memento"-like timeshifting. So go to see this, put your credulity on hold, wince at some of the dialog, but leave you mind open to be expanded and stretched by the ideas and concepts that are presented.
