A young woman has her fortune told by a down-and-out character. He predicts she will be married within the year but the union will not be a happy one. She scoffs at his statements, but one of his predications comes true when she is robbed. She doesn't recognize the fortune teller as the thief, who is committing the crime in retaliation for her doubting him. She leaves town and lives with a film director for a short time.
