A Fantastic Directorial Debut

It's great to see a small indie film compete with big hollywood productions and My Brother THE DEVIL competes superbly on that level and in many cases surpasses it with a great story and production.Though the story is not new per se, but having it set in the underclass of British society with multi ethnic cast of Brits, Arabs, French, Africans, etc., certainly provides a different backdrop. A look where some of the same prejudices, gangs and violence as well as hopes and dreams appear, that now seem so universal. A great tale comprising of family, politics, prejudices, sexual identity, brotherly love and coming of age told through the relationship of the two brothers played superbly by James Floyd as Rashid, the older brother and Fady Elsayed as Mo, the younger brother. A fantastic debut from director/writer Sally El Hosaini with a great cast. I hope folks go out to see this film and help support true small independent films such as this. Job well done!
