I've been looking forward to this movie since I first heard about it, maybe a year ago. That's a lot of build-up, and it did not disappoint! It's a lovely rendition of the play. Beatrice is by far my favorite Shakespeare heroine, and Amy Acker is wonderful in the role. Joss Whedon is a movie god. Go see this movie!

An avid Shakespeare fan, I was delighted to see this after hearing Joss Whedon was making this film. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. It was a fairly straightforward adaptation and was fairly easy to get, with only minimal confusion for those unfamiliar with the play like my sister. I loved the scenery of film, though I wish it had been in color. Definitely would recommend this film!

This isn't Shakespeare. The reviews are groupthink. Hey, it's okay to tell the truth about this film, it isn't intellectually dishonest to do so. I understand Shakespeare and the cadence of delivery, which, by the way, was delivered quite admirably. It isn't a good idea to transplant the Bard's depictions into the modern era and this film proves it. I actually left midway; I just couldn't be a witness to this travesty.

This movie was a waste of time.

Being a Shakespeare lover I knew I had to see this when I heard they were making it. I really enjoyed it! Shakespeare is always tricky in terms of language but I feel it is very accessible and easily understood, that being said the actors are excellent and it is very well directed. I loved the treatment and as I do each time I see this play the constables are my favorite characters and Joss Whedon's casting of Nathan Fillion is genius!
