    The Five-Year Engagement

I really loved this movie! Great story, great characters, lovely plot and lots of laughs!!! Some people may feel it is a little long but, I didn't find it slow in any areas! Thoughly enjoyable! And, FUNNY, FUNNY, FUNNY!!!

    all-around great time!

My husband and I both loved this film...so many belly laughs, and sweet, too! Really good writing...very real-lifelike story. Kinda crude at times...definitely for adults. An absolutely lovely date night movie! :)

Worth seeing 5 times - The Five-Year Engagement

Great movie - fun, entertaining, romatic, and revealing - This is a must-see movie. One of the best movies I've seen in years. Great script and great direction, acting is just OK.

    Almost funny

The only way I can describe it is it's as if the people who were looking through all the takes and footage and editing the movie were stoned and thought scenes were more funny than they actually were. Like all these things that were supposed to be comedy high points were inside jokes to those on set. Scenes lingered for minutes longer than necessary and I think the hope was that those extra moments were supposed to emphasize a comedic style (like The Office tv series tends to do) but it just didn't work for this movie. And it was kinda awkward...like a bad joke that no one laughs at during a stand up routine. These extra long scenes that did not hit the comedic mark left a bigger impression than the positives of the movie which is disappointing because without that pile of awkward moments, the movie would have been satisfying. Bottom line is it worth seeing in the theater? If you are a mom to a toddler and you just need somewhere to go to be alone...yes.

    Cute, funny, at times predictable

It's a cute movie and I'd go see it again. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt are terrific in this. We laughed out loud a lot! I wouldn't bring the kiddos...too many adult related jokes and scenes, Go see it...it's worth paying the money!

    I texted during the movie

I felt like the movie itself actually took five years. There was no character development, and the couple seemed very fake. I like the actors, but they didn't seem to gel with the characters.

    The five year engagement

I was not impressed, story line was good.
Adults only. Someone had their children under age of 12. Very inappropriate for them.
Too much bad language. If you have to use that much filthy language, then I don't see the point. Too many sex sceens. Didn't have to see ALL of them.

    Five years too long

If you're looking for Apatow hilarious this is pretty sad and disappointing. There are lots of gross out gags and an incredible amount of swearing, but it never seems more than amusing. The charactors and charactor actors seem sadly overweight and pathetic. This makes everything somehow believeable and down to earth. It's still worthwhile if you're interested in relationship films, but Think Like a Man is a more fun and reliable way to get to a similar conclusion.

This movie was so stupid that it was actually quite funny. I love the cast in this movie. I think they were the right fit for this script.
